“We are pleased that so many of our sponsors continue to offer their support to our students, which is a testament to the Scholarship Programme and the strong relationships we have established with our industry partners. We are delighted to also welcome new companies to this year’s Fair. “Recent events have highlighted the increased importance of the subjects we offer, to support the production of the nation’s food, animal welfare and land and environmental management. Scholarships with a placement are mutually beneficial to students and their sponsors, enabling young talent to be supported at the start of a career, whilst helping to secure the continuity of high-level skills within the industry.” Vice Chancellor, Dr David Llewellyn
Harper Adams students are set to benefit this October from the University’s first online Scholarships Fair. The event, being held on October 22nd 2020, will offer students the opportunity to explore fantastic placement opportunities, linked with a scholarship, with positions starting in the Summer of 2021.
Participating companies are very much embracing the new format of the Scholarship Fair, which is proving to be popular. Longstanding scholarship providers will be joined by a number of new organisations.
Vice-Chancellor, Dr David Llewellyn, commented: “We are pleased that so many of our sponsors continue to offer their support to our students, which is a testament to the Scholarship Programme and the strong relationships we have established with our industry partners. We are delighted to also welcome new companies to this year’s Fair.

Former scholar and recent graduate, Megan Edwards, has encouraged students to explore the Fair with an open mind: “The Scholarship Fair is a fantastic opportunity to meet a wide variety of employers and learn about the vast array of jobs available to you across various sectors. Gaining a scholarship with an industry placement has enabled me to not only discover and develop a passion for a sector I had not previously considered, but also to grasp opportunities that were not previously available to me, in order to build a career in a fascinating industry.” Megan was successful in securing a position at her placement company following graduation.
Head of Development, Doris Taylor, said: “We are excited about the new format of the event as it gives employers the opportunity to engage with even more students, as students have the flexibility to look at the options open to them at a time to suit them.”
As usual, the application process for the scholarships will be launched on the day of the Fair, but compared to a 1-day event, students will have the opportunity to engage with employers beyond this point and they will be able to access all materials provided until the November 18 deadline which is expected to significantly increase the reach of the high-profile event.
