Specialist science and technology careers to be showcased at Telford Skills Show

The huge variety of careers in science and technology which a qualification from Harper Adams University can unlock are to be showcased at a major regional event.

The University is one of a series of core partners and sponsors at Telford Skills Show 2026, which takes place on Thursday, March 19 at the International Centre in the town.

Attendees can explore training options and boost skills, receive personalised specialist advice, and meet industry leaders and employers and discover career opportunities.

Harper Adams University, alongside Telford & Wrekin Council, Telford College, and the Careers & Enterprise Company, sponsors the event – and a host of University staff and students will be at this year’s show.

External Shows and Events Lead Sarah Swinnerton said: “From finding out about beneficial bugs to making your own sports drinks and healthy snacks, and from discovering how we’re using next-generation robotics to boost our students’ skills to our interactive animal anatomy challenge – there’s something for everyone at our custom-designed stand.

“We’ll even be bringing some of the Harper Adams University sheep herd to help demonstrate how we check their health and welfare – which promises to be quite a sight!”

Mark Purcell, Youth Employment Support Team Leader at Telford & Wrekin Council, added: “We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of Harper Adams University, who have been a valued sponsor of the Telford Skills Show for many years.

“Their commitment to championing skills, education and industry development plays a vital role in the success of the event.

“Harper Adams provides fantastic opportunities for young people to train and learn locally, helping to develop the talent needed to support Telford’s thriving industries and future workforce.”

Staff from Unitemps Harper Adams, the University’s innovative new recruitment service, will also be on hand to explain how their work is helping employers across the region find skilled staff.

As ever, the University’s professional services staff will also be there alongside its academics – meaning prospective students can get face-to-face, tailored advice.

Senior Admissions Officer Robert Cuthbert said: "Whether you are looking to apply or have questions about your current application, we will be on hand to assist and help you or give advice about what your next steps in applying are and what to expect next with your journey to start with us in September or beyond!"

The show is open to the general public between noon and 6pm.
