HARPER ADAMS University College, Shropshire, has come up with a fabulous offer for students in the Republic of Ireland, who would like to attend the UK's top careers event for the land and food-based industries.
This year's National Sixth Form Conference is entitled 'A New Generation for Regeneration' and offers students, aged 16 to 18, the chance to meet with specialist university and industry advisers and sample a range of potential careers.
The advice on offer at the conference covers more than twenty possible rural careers, including Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Food Technology, Engineering, Equine Studies, Journalism, Business Management, Information Technology (IT) and many more.
Students travelling to the conference from the Republic of Ireland will be able to take advantage of a free, return coach trip, specially provided by Harper Adams, which will collect students from several points in the Republic and take them to the University College's campus on Sunday, July 7, 2002.
This will allow Eire students to thoroughly involve themselves in the two-day programme of seminars, lectures and practical sessions, as well as experiencing some of the social life that goes hand in hand with being resident at a university.
The return coach will bring students home on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 and organisers are proud to be able to offer this transport, entirely free of charge.
"We are making these special arrangements for students in the Republic of Ireland," comments Conference Organiser Richard Jopling, "because we have particularly strong links within the Republic and want students there to take advantage of the best careers advice available to them.
"There is now a bewildering but exciting range of courses open to young people and they deserve the careful, individual and impartial advice that this conference offers."
Students who wish to take advantage of the free bus to Harper Adams University College must first book a place at the National Sixth Form Conference. For further information or to apply, please contact Conference Administrator Sally Bishop on +44 1952 815 265 or E-mail sbishop@harper-adams.ac.uk
The closing date for applications to the National Sixth Form Conference is Monday, July 1, 2002.
