YFC SECRETARY SARAH GAINS SCHOLARSHIP

SARAH Ann Hinchcliffe, from Goole, in East Yorkshire, has gained a prestigious Entrance Award to study at Harper Adams University College, Shropshire in September.
She will receive the £750 award when her course in Rural Enterprise and Land Management begins in September.
Sarah, who has had many responsibilities in her life as secretary, social secretary, programme secretary and minutes secretary for her local Young Farmers Club, said she had always known her life would involve agriculture.
Sarah studied A-Levels in History, Geography and Business Studies to aid her career aspirations of becoming a Land Agent and to prepare herself for her BSc (Hons) Rural Enterprise and Land Management course at Harper Adams University College, she is undertaking work experience in York.
While Sarah was attending school she had the opportunity to become involved with the RAF. This allowed her to try her hand at shooting, orienteering, gliding, ski-ing and flying. Miss Hinchcliffe also enjoys hockey and netball.
Richard Jopling, Head of Liaison at the University College said, “The selection panel was impressed with Sarah’s commitment to her planned course and to making a full contribution to University life.”
Harper Adams University College is the UK’s largest, specialist centre of Higher Education for the land and food based industries. It currently has around 1,800 students on undergraduate and postgraduate courses, research and graduates.
