'HIGH STANDARD' OF REPORT SECURES WIN

A WEST MIDLANDS graduate who wrote her final degree assignment on the poultry industry has won a prestigious prize.

Juliet Christina Lay, 23, from Sutton Coldfield won the 2002 Hubbard/ISA Award when she graduated from Harper Adams University College, in Shropshire, earlier this year.

Miss Lay graduated with a 2:1 in her BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Animal Science degree and scooped the Hubbard/ISA Award after completing a report on Intensive Husbandry Systems in Poultry.

The Hubbard/ISA Award is given annually to the student who submits the most outstanding report on poultry husbandry and this year's judges described Miss Lay's contribution as being 'of a very high standard.'

They added: "Juliet is a very diligent student with a good understanding of poultry and associated issues."
