ACHIEVEMENTS NOTED IN ANNUAL REVIEW

HARPER ADAMS University College will be publishing its Annual Review of 2002 later this month, to report on the successes of the institution, its students and staff during the last year.

Amongst the student achievements recorded, will be that of Andrew John Morton, 23, from Hampton Magna, in Warwick, who won the Worshipful Company of Farmers Award while studying at Harper Adams for a BSc degree in Agriculture with Land and Farm Management.

The Worshipful Company of Farmers award is presented annually to the final year student who achieves the highest overall mark for their investigative project.

Mr Morton’s project, entitled ‘A study into the feasibility of converting waste vegetable oil into biodiesel for use in agricultural vehicles’ netted him the top mark amongst students on his degree course.

Carwyn Ellis, Head of the Animals Group at Harper Adams, is pictured presenting Mr Morton with his certificate, during a ceremony held at the University College’s campus, near Newport, Shropshire, as part of Graduation Day last September.
