DANIEL ALLEN from Sligo has just won a scholarship to the leading University College for Land-based studies in the UK. Daniel, who is currently studying for a B.Sc (Hons) in Agriculture at the prestigious Harper Adams University College, Shropshire, plans to make a career in farm management.

Daniel impressed the selection panel with his practical knowledge of agriculture gained from farming at home and with his positive attitude to the academic and social environment at Harper Adams. Daniel is enjoying the course and looking forward to undertaking his paid industrial placement period on a farm, either in The UK, Ireland or abroad.

The award is given by Harper Adams in Ireland, which is the association for former students of the University College who now live and work in Ireland. Harper Adams in Ireland was pleased to present Daniel with a cheque for £400.
