    HARPER ADAMS’ PLANTS WIN GOLD

    Posted 1 May 2003

THE WORK OF TEAMS from Harper Adams University College’s Grounds & Estates Department and the Crop and Environment Research Centre, has helped win a Royal Horticultural Society Gold Medal.

The University College’s Grounds Manager Mark Hall worked closely with the Shropshire Branch of the Institute of Groundsmen to help them prepare their garden for the Malvern Spring Show.

During the judging of the event by the Royal Horticultural Society, the garden was singled out by judges and awarded their Gold Medal. The garden will now feature in TV coverage of the Spring Show, due to air on BBC2 at 8.30 pm on Friday, May 9, 2003.

Amongst the featured exhibits from the winning garden will be an array of vegetables, all of which were cultivated and grown in Harper Adams’ very own on-campus glasshouses!
