    LINCOLN LAD GETS FRUITY

    A PROJECT LOOKING AT the UK fresh produce supply chain has secured a prestigious award for the author.

    Brett Casswell, 24, of Spalding, Lincolnshire, wrote ‘An investigation into supplier and retailer relationships in the UK fresh produce supply chain’ as the final year dissertation for his course at Harper Adams University College, Shropshire.

    He has now been awarded the 2003 Worshipful Company of Fruiterers Award for the best BSc Honours Marketing dissertation on the subject of the marketing of fresh produce.

    The Rt Hon Sir Stephen Brown GBE, presented Brett with his prize during Harper Adams’ Graduation Day celebrations on Friday, September 19, 2003. Brett graduated with a 2:1 grade in his BSc (Hons) Agri-food Marketing and Business Studies degree.

    Brett spent the summer helping to run salad harvest operations on a large salad farm near his home and has just started full-time employment as a Trainee Commercial Buyer for Faccenda, a chicken processing company in Brackley, Northants.
