    CANNOCK RANGER WINS INAUGURAL AWARD

    A NORTON CAINES WOMAN has been named the winner of an inaugural award for countryside know-how.

    Heather Jackson, 24, from Norton Caines, in Cannock, graduated from an HND Countryside Management course last month and won the first annual Harper Adams University College Prize.

    The award is made to the best performing student on a countryside course and was presented to Heather by Senior Lecturer John Bentley during a special ceremony held as part of Harper Adams’ Graduation Day on Friday, September 19, 2003.

    Having graduated, Heather is now working as a Senior Ranger in a new Country Park Development. Her responsibilities include conservation management, grounds maintenance, educational activities and giving talks and presentations to the public.
