Harper Adams University College, Newport, will be ‘thinking pink’ next week to raise charity cash. Staff and students will be joining in the Breast Cancer Campaign’s Wear It Pink day, on Friday, October 29, by donating money to come to work dressed in pink.Last year the charity’s Wear It Pink day raised £600,000 for research into breast cancer, but this year the target is £840,000.
Sarah Jessop, who is organising the event at Harper Adams, said: “Most of us have a family member, friend or colleague who has been affected by breast cancer, and we aim to raise as much money as possible for this deserving cause. Most people will have at least one pink item of clothing in our wardrobes, but some of the staff and students have pledged to dress from head to toe in pink, which should be a nice antidote to all the grey weather we are having lately.”
