Yara Winter Wheat Challenge 2005

All students studying crop production in the first year of their degree or HND follow the progress of winter wheat plots, monitoring and discussing the management treatments throughout the year.
Regular inspection of the crops assist learning and teaching of crop production by placing lecture material in a practical context. Students consider all aspects which affect crop performance in the field.
Yara UK Ltd sponsor the project, donating an engraved tankard and cash prize to the student writing the best report on crop development, problems and solutions from establishment to growth stage 31. Mr David Barrett, Area Manager for Yara UK Ltd together with three of the finalists in June 2005.
