    Harper Herceptin Appeal

    Posted 19 May 2006

STUDENTS at Harper Adams University College raised hundreds of pounds for a national campaign during their RAG week.

Six Students have teamed up to form the Harper Herceptin Appeal, in association with the Herceptin 4 Shropshire Now Campaign.

They invited staff, fellow students and members of the local community to join them in a coffee morning and raffle to help raise money for the campaign.

The event, at 10.30am on Wednesday May 17, was held in conjunction with other events, including a Blind Date, BBQ and live band during the evening.

Oliver Muntz, one of the organisers said, “Unfortunately our previous course manager was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and as a group we felt this was a very appropriate and local campaign to support. “

“Due to a member of the team also losing their mother to cancer it has given us all the more reason to make this appeal as successful as possible”

“As well as raising money for these ladies, we are hoping the event will raise the much needed awareness of cancer throughout the college, and in particular cancers which can threaten the young”

Students involved in the campaign are Oliver Muntz, Sarah Edwards, Paul Pitchford, Nick Evans, Toni Proffitt and Lucy Ratcliffe, who are all in their Third Year studying Leisure and Tourism at Harper Adams.
