Successful students at Harper Adams University College graduated last month.
During the ceremony, the university college awarded about 500 PhD, MSc, degree and HND certificates to students – who found out their results in July.
And this year, guest speaker Nick Paul joined the Chairman of the Board of Governors, the Lord Stafford and Principal, Professor Wynne Jones to lead the graduation procession.
Commenting on the ceremony, Professor Wynne Jones, Principal of Harper Adams University College, said: “We welcomed graduands to the ceremony, to mark this momentous achievement in each of their lives.
“We also extended a warm invite to guests of the graduands to offer them the opportunity to see this beautiful campus and meet members of staff who have been involved in the provision of the programmes undertaken by the graduands.
“Graduation is a culmination of many years of hard work and the diplomas and degrees reflect our aim of promoting qualities of the mind as well as skills for employment to provide a platform for a successful career.
“Our teaching is designed to promote intellectual self reliance and to show students how to learn in a way that will enable them to continue learning throughout life.”
During the ceremony, guest speaker Nick Paul, who is chairman of Advantage West Midlands, talked about the business community in the rural and urban economy.
Mr Paul, who took up the post in December 2002, is also Chairman of the MG Rover Task Force, which was set up in April 2005, Chairman of the Tricon Group Plc, an AIM-listed engineering company and is a Non-Executive Director of Severn Valley Railway (Holdings) Plc.
