    Harper Adams Making Tracks to Cereals

    Harper Adams University College will be attending Cereals, the leading technical event for the UK arable industry on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th June. We will be located in our usual area – Stand 435.

    We will be more than happy to welcome and talk to prospective students and their parents, past and present Harper students and partners and associates within the land, food and rural based industries.

    Come and meet the Harper Adams specialist Crops Group who are responsible for the first-class teaching of crop science, production and conservation. The University College has also developed a wide range of short courses for the agricultural industry in addition to the full-time provision. The short courses include the likes of BASIS modules and specialist qualifications. There is also the opportunity to find out about Post Graduate and Research Degrees.

    As well as the diverse range of full-time and short courses available the members of the Crops Group undertake research in crop protection, physiology, biotechnology and plant nematology. The facilities are second-to-none. The Crops and Environmental Research Centre provides dedicated facilities and the technical expertise required to conduct a wide range of research projects and commercial trails. Harper Adams currently has over 40 ha of field trails with over 5,000 plots of various crops.

    Cereals is taking place at Vine Farm, Wendy, near Royston, Cambridgeshire on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th June. There are 67 ha of stands and live demonstrations and 350 leading suppliers offering a complete one-stop service; from seeds to sprayers, crop varieties to cultivation equipment, fertiliser to finance. It is expected that 21,000 professional farmers gathering over two days.

    Current and former students and University staff will be available throughout the show to answer questions, give advice and talk of their own experiences.

    Higher Education Choices (HEC) Conference
    FREE BUS FROM THE EAST

    We will also be encouraging prospective students to attend our HEC conference on 9th–10th July. This is an excellent opportunity to experience a rural university lifestyle! Some 300 young people will be enjoying the two-day residential course for students aged between 16-18 years.  As well as careers advice and seminars to help you choose which course really suits you there are a variety of seminars, hands-on group activities and evening social events for you to sample and get a feel for Harper life.  Its only £25 for all meals, accommodation and entertainment. Free buses will pick up students at key points including; Holt, Fakenham, Norwich, Thetford, Bury St Edmunds and Cambridge.
