Harper Adams University College, Shropshire, the leading provider of higher education for the land-based industries, is hosting a Poultry Open Day on Wednesday 12th December which will give you the opportunity to look around the newly constructed 7,000 bird, naturally ventilated free-range egg production shed prior to the birds being housed.
The free-range egg production unit, which has increased its capacity by 75%, showcases some of the most recent developments in design and construction.
Poultry Farm Manager David Chadwick said “We are extremely pleased with the new unit. It demonstrates some of the most recent developments in technology and will allow the University College to significantly strengthen its teaching and research expertise within the poultry sector.”
The house construction has been completed by Morspan Ltd and the base was provided by Connop and Son Ltd. Vencomatic, Big Dutchman and Potters supplied the house equipment. The birds will be included in the Woodland scheme run by Noble Foods.
