Harper Adams University College and the town’s Waitrose store have joined forces to help raise money for the Newport Cottage Hospital X-Ray Appeal. Waitrose are kindly supporting the University College’s annual pantomime by supplying sweets and treats that will be distributed to the audience in true pantomime fashion from one of the store’s shopping trolleys.
Treasure Island’ will be open to the public on Saturday 8th December at 7pm. All of the proceeds from the performance will be donated to the appeal.
Rehearsals are going well for the well-known annual slap-stick fun. This year Long John Silver, Dame Widdecombe, Poopdeck Pete, Cut Throat Colin, and The Squire will be taking centre stage to raise money for this worthy local cause. Saturday Night is Public Night where the University College invite local families and community groups to attend what is going to be an evening packed full of entertainment.
Fred Baker, the Producer of the Show said “Each year we invite the local community to Harper Adams to have a bit of fun, whilst raising money for a local cause. We are thrilled that Waitrose are supporting the event and it is with great pleasure that all the proceeds of the Saturday night event will go towards the town’s X-Ray Appeal.”
Jill King, Waitrose marketing assistant added “This is such a fun way to assist fundraising for the local x-ray appeal. We are so pleased to be helping Harper Adams stage an event for such an important cause. Waitrose will continue to support the appeal with additional fundraising activities in January.”
