    Meal Plans Terms and Conditions

    1. These are the Terms upon which Harper Adams University, (the “University”, "We" or "Us"), shall provide the Meal Plans as described in this document for the pre-purchase of meals from the Queen Mother Hall dining facility to you.

    2. What is a meal plan?

      1. A Meal Plan is a scheme developed by Harper Adams University (the University, Us, We). This enables students to purchase a block of meals for 1 week. The meal plan can be taken away or consumed within the dining hall. The Scheme is open to all registered full-time and postgraduate students at the University, subject to these terms and conditions.
    3. When can I have the meals?

      1. Meals are served at the normal dining times:
        Breakfast 07:30 - 09:00 Monday to Friday
        Lunch 12:00 - 13:30 Monday to Friday
        Dinner 18:00 - 19:30 Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday
        Dinner 17:00 - 18:30 Wednesday
    4. What period will the meal plan cover?

      1. Each meal plan purchased covers 1 week (Monday to Friday).
    5. What meals will I have access to?

      1. A Weekly Meal Plan entitles you to 3 meal per day for 5 days, Monday to Friday
      2. The Meal Plan cannot be used to purchase alcohol or tobacco products.
      3. You are will be entitled to 1 breakfast, 1 lunch and 1 evening meal per day. Unused meals cannot be carried forward.
    6. How does the meal plan work?

      1. When you ordered and paid for your chosen meal plan you will be required to supply your university ID number to Us. We will record your meal plan against your ID number. University ID cards must be presented at all meal times to check eligibility against your chosen meal plan.
      2. The catering team reserves the right to refuse service should you not present your card at meal times, or if you attempt to use another person’s card. If service is refused you will not be able to purchase the meal with your Meal Plan and will need to pay for the meal separately. Any meals untaken will not be refunded.
    7. Price and Payment*

      1. The price of the Weekly Meal Plan is £70.00.
      2. Prices are liable to change at any time, but price changes will not affect orders once they have been made and payment made.
      3. Order and payments for the relevant meal plan can be made by ordering at the Harper Adams online store.
      4. All payments must be made at the time of ordering at which point your student Identification Number will be recorded to enable your meal plan to be activated and administered.

    1. Cancellation and Termination

      1. The University may terminate the meal plan scheme at any time on reasonable grounds and upon one week’s prior written notice ending on the Sunday before the new week commences. In the event that We terminate the Mean Plan Scheme you will receive a refund calculated on a pro rata daily basis by reference to the number of days remaining in your meal plan.
      2. You are entitled to cancel the meal plan scheme at any time upon one week’s prior written notice to catemail@harper-adams.ac.uk.
      3. To cancel, please submit your cancellation request, in writing to catemail@harper-adams.ac.uk marked for the attention of the Head of Catering.
      4. Subject to an administration fee of £10.00 to process the required updates to the meal plan scheme you will be entitled to a refund of the sum paid calculated on a pro rata daily basis by reference to the number of days remaining in your meal plan.
      5. Any refund by the University made according to these terms and conditions will be made within 14 days.
      6. Refunds will either be paid into your personal account direct, or, where initial payments were made using a debit/credit card, to the original cardholder’s account.
    2. Misuse or Fraud

      1. Any misuse of the scheme, such as allowed another person to use your meal plan or breach of the terms and conditions, may result in your meal package being suspended or terminated by the University. In such circumstances you will not be entitled to a refund although We may at our absolute discretion refund all or part of unused meal plan.
      2. You may not transfer or let anyone else use your ID to receive meals.
      3. The University reserves the right to request additional ID of the account holder when using the scheme.
      4. Any attempt to defraud the meal plan scheme may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the University’s disciplinary policy which can be found here.
    3. General information

      1. The University will only deal with you in relation to your account. It is your responsibility to notify catemail@harper-adams.ac.uk of any changes to your account details.
      2. The University shall not be held responsible, or deemed to be in breach of service, by being unable to provide meal services due to or factors beyond the University’s control. Under such circumstances lost meal values will not be refunded.
      3. The University will deal with all personal data provided by you under this meal plan scheme in accordance with the applicable legislation such as the Data Protection Act 2018. Any personal data captured, used and processed via the Scheme will be processed fairly and in accordance with the University’s Data Protection Policy. The University will use the personal information you provide to us: to provide the services to you, to process your payments, and to keep a track of your transaction history in order to administer and manage the Scheme.       4. Any complaint or concerns by you in relation to the meal plan scheme must be made in writing to the Head of Catering
      5. We may revise these terms and conditions from time-to-time. Revised terms and conditions will apply to the Scheme from the date of the publication of the revised terms and conditions on the University’s website. Please check this page regularly to ensure you are familiar with the current version.
      6. A person who is not party to these Terms shall not have any rights under or in connection with them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
      7. These Terms shall be governed by English law and we both agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
