The Crop Science group focuses on research to help grow crops sustainably in a changing climate. Framers and growers are having to grow food to sustain a growing global population in the face of changing climate and the target of reaching net-zero production systems.
We are a team of researchers and PhD students focussed on understanding the fundamental processes involved in crop growth and production and translating them into applied solutions that can help to address these challenges facing farmers and growers.

We translate plant science to crops, working with experts in the UK and abroad, and have expertise in cereals, root crops, fruit and vegetables that are grown using field, protected and vertical farming systems. The team thrive on bringing our crop expertise to collaborative multidisciplinary projects and have an established track record of delivery for research council, government and commercial customers.
