On the 3rd November 2018 the Conservation Society had a Newport Canal working day, with members from the Newport and Shrewsbury Canal Trust.
A productive days work was had, with the opportunity to meet other volunteers from the trust. We focussed on maintenance of hedgerow plants and observed invertebrates and flora in the area. It was a fun day of practical work and useful contacts made.
The society has also had a guest speaker from Eko Kids give a talk on how to engage children in the countryside through education, and the society also regularly hold Dave’s Documentary days where we get together as a society to watch David Attenborough documentaries .
If you are interested please contact a member of this years exec team which is made up of three 2nd year students, Eloise (chairman), Rebekah (Treasurer) and Wren (Secretary).
