New solar PV installations contribute to Net Zero targets

    16 February 2022

In support of its Net Zero 2030 target, the University has recently invested in several new solar pv arrays to generate additional zero carbon electricity.  Working with The Alt Group, four new installations at B-block, CERC and the Poultry buildings have a combined power rating of 168.72 kWp with the potential to annually:

    • Generate c.152,000 kWh
    • Offset c. 35 tonnes CO2e
    • Save £23,000

Combined with the existing STEP dairy PV system, the University's total annual on-site renewable electricity generation is typically 637,000 kwh, equal to approximately 14% of total electricity demand.
