Through working within a team of skilled professionals at the forefront of their industry I will be able to focus my final year at Harper Adams onto a path which will best equip me for a future career within such a company.
“The opportunity of this placement will allow me to experience both the R&D and commercial side of the business which will help with my future career aspirations. I feel extremely grateful to have been selected for the Corteva Scholarship, not only for providing an invaluable placement year but also for allowing me through the scholarship to dedicate my summer post-placement to gaining valuable experiences.
“I have grown up on a family farm, comprising of both arable and Christmas poultry, which has developed my passion for agriculture. I chose to study BSc (Hons) Agriculture with Crop Management after work experience with a local agronomist.
“In this sector, you face new and varied challenges every day, making it a very stimulating environment to be a part of. Upon graduating, I am aspiring to become an integral member of a customer focused agricultural company, promoting sustainability to feed a growing population. Other career aspirations also include having the opportunity to work not only in various locations in the UK but around the world.
“I have enjoyed communicating and interacting with farmers over the last two summers grain sampling in East Anglia for a local grain merchant. This helped to develop my confidence and further motivate me to achieve a career in the agricultural sector.
“I would like to thank Corteva for providing me with this opportunity to broaden my skills and agricultural experience. It will allow me an insight into processes involved with Field Trial Management and how a global company markets its products through various tools including social media.
