We are fortunate enough to be able to study and work in the beautiful rural setting of Harper Adams University. Last month in the main building courtyard, we had a mother duck and a dozen tiny, fluffy ducklings. The courtyard has no way out to the rest of the University unless you have a key - or can fly! Mother duck had flown in, but had forgotten the key for when it was time to leave. Opening the door wasn't working, so a rescue mission was mounted to catch and release the family to a safer part of campus. Huge thanks to the staff of Estates and Marketing who, with the help and supervision of the Companion Animal House staff, safely captured and released the family near one of the pools on campus. Not something that happens at many Universities, but a normal day on campus at Harper Adams!
