Today we hosted our first postgraduate open afternoon of the year, inviting prospective students to experience what Harper Adams has to offer.
With a range of taught Master's degrees from PgC / PgD / MSc Data Science for the Global Agriculture and Food Industry to PgC / PgD / MSc / MRes Entomology, there are multiple routes students can pursue their academic interests in. Equally, should students be inspired by a specific idea, they can undertake a research degree, studying a qualification that is specific to their needs. Postgraduate open afternoons offer the chance for prospective students to ask any questions to the course managers and discover precisely what the benefits of studying at postgraduate level can be.
The afternoon began with an introductory presentation about the benefits of studying within a successful commercial farm, seeing theory in action between field to fork. As rural industries expand and diversify, we are increasingly aware that our future pioneers need to be taught with the marketplace in mind to remain at the forefront of developments. Having these resources at their fingertips enables students to not only have an academic understanding but to put their theories to the test with practical work.
Following the introduction, the visitors were invited to a tour of the campus, seeing the facilities they will be equipped with before meeting with the subject specialists to discuss any questions they may have about fields of study. Students were also offered the opportunity to explore each of the courses in depth and decide whether the courses were for them by having one to one discussions with academics, prosping ideas and asking questions.
The afternoon was a great success with many students out and about asking questions and experiencing everything Harper Adams has to offer. Should you be interested in postgraduate study, you can view our courses page before attending our next postgraduate open afternoon on March 20. Registration for the event is open now.
