Six Harper graduates join Oxbury Bank

    13 October 2020

Six Harper graduates have secured new roles in the banking sector, working for Oxbury, the UK’s new specialist bank for food and farming.

Working within the Graduate Development Programme, the alumni will have an opportunity to see their degree skills in a new light. Using their industry knowledge, they will gain new working skills from a variety of different teams. The programme enables the new graduates to rotate between different roles to gain a broad understanding of the business as a whole.

Sioned Davies, who studied BSc Agri-food Marketing with Business, is beginning her role in the Credit and Risk team. She said: “The Oxbury Graduate Programme is completely unique; it is enabling me to build a career based not only on my academic experience, but also my passion for agriculture.

“The rotational nature of the programme is allowing me to experience working in a range of business functions before deciding on where to focus my long-term career.

“My business mentor has over 30 years of experience as a senior executive in the banking sector. I feel immensely privileged to be benefitting from the training, support and structure provided by Oxbury.”

Commenting on the launch of the Graduate Development Programme, Nick Evans, Oxbury Managing Director said: “We are delighted to welcome our first intake of talented graduates to Oxbury.

“Through the delivery of a structured programme of activity, we aim to provide our graduates with the skills, knowledge and defined career-path they will require to become future Oxbury business leaders.

“There is no other UK-based bank with a sole focus on British agriculture. We are also applying this philosophy to our recruitment strategy and developing what we hope will become a longstanding relationship with Harper Adams University.”
