    8 March 2016

Harper Adams was awarded Fairtrade University status in March 2016.

In fact we have been a Fairtrade University since 2009. A Fairtrade University is one that has made a commitment to supporting and using Fairtrade.

Wherever possible, the University sources food and products from local suppliers to reduce the impact of transport, and support local employment. For products imported from abroad, we ensure that as many Fairtrade products are used as possible and that these are available in a range of outlets in and around our University. Increasing the use and sales of Fairtrade products can have a huge impact for producers and their communities.

A Fairtrade University also raise awareness of Fairtrade with students and staff and the benefits that it brings to workers and farmers in developing countries.
