    Rain Water Recycling

    10 January 2015

Did you know that the University recycles some of it's rainwater!

Way back when the Bamford Library was built, a system was installed to harvest the rain water for re-use.

Rainwater is harvested from the roof and deposited in a tank below the footpath on the front elevation.

It is then pumped out into a distribution main that feed the W.C. cisterns in the toilets.

There is also a  “Mains” back up,  as the collection tank can run dry in the summer months.
