Do you want to study for a degree but don't have the required qualifications? Or want to return to study after a few years in the workplace, raising a family or travelling? Then the Extended Foundation Degree Programme (EFDP) or Extended Degree Programme (EDP) could be for you.
In the foundation year (Year 0) you choose one entry route, before progressing onto a full foundation or bachelor's degree, with a placement year working in industry included. It's a great option for students without traditional qualifications.
“The great strength of the extended degree programmes is that they give the opportunity for students to study in higher education who may not otherwise have the chance.”

If you achieve a 40% pass in your extended year (Year 0) you will progress onto a foundation degree (FdSc). To be accepted onto a BSc (Hons) degree you will need to achieve a 60% pass.
If you achieve a 40% pass in your extended year, you will progress onto the BSc (Hons) degree for your current route. To transfer onto a different BSc (Hons) degree you will need to achieve a 60% pass and meet any route-specific progression requirements.
