Currently an English for Academic Purposes tutor to both international undergraduate and post graduates, delivering classroom teaching and one-to-one tutorials. I have  25 years of language teaching, lecturing and teacher training experience in both further and higher education in UK and overseas.  I have a particular interest in dyslexia in foreign language learning, cultural inclusion,  barriers to learning for international students and making science concepts accessible through language. Recent action research has considered Chinese students' perceived barriers to understanding in-person lectures and how subject lecturers can help?

Prior to teaching my research and professional roles were in natural resource management and wildlife conservation in Africa and the Middle East, working for UNEP, government ministries, NGOs and in consultancy, which built on doctoral training  in lion/livestock conflict in Kenya.
