    The 'Animal Nutrition' book

Two senior lecturers from Harper Adams University College have revised and edited one of the top texts for students on animal courses.

Professor Liam Sinclair and Dr Robert Wilkinson were asked by the existing authors to update the seventh edition of ‘Animal Nutrition’, due to their broad knowledge of the subject.

The task took Professor Sinclair and Dr Wilkinson around a year to complete with the next update due in seven years.

Professor Sinclair, said: “We were delighted to have been invited to contribute and rewrite this core text, which is on the reading list for students at Harper Adams and many other institutions across the country.”

The book is recommended for all undergraduates studying animal science, veterinary science, agriculture, biology and biochemistry.

It is split into six main sections - the digestion and metabolism of nutrients; quantifying the nutrient content of foods: digestibility, energy and protein values; the nutrient requirement of animals; the nutritional characteristics of foods; and animal products and human nutrition.
