Rural photography exhibition – enter now!

The winning photographs will be used to produce a set of gift cards.
Entries are now being received for this year’s Harper Adams digital photography exhibition.
Talented amateur photographers with a Shropshire link are being asked to submit up to four photographs for consideration which fit the theme ‘rural landscapes and structures’.
These will be displayed as a slideshow during the event, which is being launched on November 1, for the duration of a week.
Video Journalist and Event Organiser, Janine Heath, said: “More than 60 photographers entered their work into the exhibition last year. In total, we received more than 200 stunning photographs.
“A judging panel, including a professional photographer, will be considering the entries this year with the top eight being announced at a celebratory reception event at the Regional Food Academy on campus.
“These winning photographs will be used to produce a set of gift cards which will be available to purchase after the exhibition and at the Harper Adams Festive Farmers Market on December 4.”
Aside from this, all photographs that are entered will be displayed on a TV screen in the Bamford Library foyer on campus, with the general public invited to view.
Rural Enterprise and Land Management Lecturer and exhibition judge, Simon Keeble, masterminded the idea last year. He said: “I was inspired by a local amateur photographer taking pictures of the landscape at Haughmond Hill and of wildlife.
“Photographs don’t have to be taken in Shropshire, but they do have to fit the theme – ‘rural landscapes and structures’.
“If the quality of photographs that we received last year is anything to go by, selecting the top eight images may prove difficult!”
The closing date for entries is October 4, with a full list of rules and regulations and online submission form available here.
