Growers and land managers from across the UK came together to discuss the future of fertilisers at an event held at Harper Adams University College.
The Nuffield Frank Arden conference, entitled 'Fertilisers for the Future', saw Nuffield scholars, Mark Tucker and Nik Johnson, present the findings of their 12-month studies into manufactured fertilisers and alternative sources of nutrition.
Industry experts Jo Franklin NSch and Clive Blacker NSch also spoke at the event.
Sponsorship of the Nuffield industry research has been by the family of the late Frank Arden, the Crown Estate and the Frank Parkinson Agricultural Trust.
