Key figures from the world of agriculture received honorary degrees and fellowships at the 2012 Harper Adams Graduation Ceremony last week.

National Farmers Union (NFU) President, Mr Peter Kendall, received an honorary doctorate in recognition of his service to UK agriculture and leadership role within the NFU.

Professor Dick Godwin received an honorary doctorate in recognition of his distinguished academic contribution to agricultural engineering and significant commitment shown to supporting and enhancing the work of the Engineering Department at Harper Adams.

As well as the honorary degrees listed above, Professor Wynne Jones and Mr Clive Gurney were both conferred with the Fellowship of Harper Adams University College.

Fellowships provide a distinctive award of merit for individuals, other than current Governors or staff, who have, amongst other criteria, made a significant contribution to the industries, trades and professions served by the University College and who have not otherwise been recognised by the institution.
