Posted 9 February 2015
Eliot Greenfield, from Loweswater, Cumbria, is the new Velcourt Dairy Farm Management scholar at Harper Adams University.
Eliot, 20, is a second year BSc (Hons) Agriculture student at Harper Adams, in Shropshire. His scholarship provides £3,500 sponsorship in the current academic year plus a guaranteed placement year position with the company. Further funds might be provided for Eliot’s final year, depending on performance.
The former Cockermouth Secondary School pupil said: “I would like to thank Nick Shorter, Robbie Taylor and Mark Ward for awarding me with the Velcourt Dairy Farm Management Scholarship. I am overwhelmed to be given this opportunity.
“It will enable me to further my career aspirations, knowledge and practical experience within the dairy industry, while being able to represent such a reputable company.”
Eliot’s placement job will allow him to become involved in all aspects of livestock and farm management on a day-to-day basis.
