Summer Ball scholarship for Joe, 22

Student Joe Haseley, 22, from Stoke St. Gregory, Somerset, has received a scholarship award funded by other students. 

Joe, who will complete a Foundation Degree in Countryside Management this summer, has been awarded the Harper Adams University Summer Ball Scholarship. 

The former pupil of Richard Huish College: “It means a lot to me, I am very grateful to everyone involved and the panel for choosing me. When I saw the other candidates I thought I didn’t have a chance so it was a big surprise when I got the letter through I’d been selected!”

As part of his course, Joe worked for a year as a trainee gamekeeper at the Atholl Estate in the Cairgorm National Park, Scotland. Away from his studies, Joe is a keen rugby player. He has played for the university since his first year and was a member of the rugby club executive in second year. 

Joe is a member of the Summer Ball committee, organising the VIP dinner at the event in June, so it is only fitting that he is receiving funds raised through previous events.
