Chloe Cross, 22, from Addlestone, Surrey, won the Irish Bowl when she graduated from Harper Adams University in September, recognising her outstanding involvement in the university community and high employability.
Agriculture course manager Russell Readman said: “Following her Foundation Degree, Chloe undertook the BSc Agriculture with Farm Business Management Course and has been awarded a 2:1 Honours degree today. In addition to her very good academic record, Chloe has made a significant contribution to the student community through her role as Course Representative on both the FdSc and BSc Top-Up Courses. Chloe has acted as a student ambassador, responsible for showing prospective applicants around the university on open days. In her final year she was also played a key role in organising the Agriculture Course Dinner.
“Chloe has represented agriculture courses and Harper Adams in the external community through her attendance at the Oxford Farming Conference, as a student representative of the University. In January 2014, she played a key role in initiating Forage Aid, raising funds for South West Farmers following the devastating floods, and was subsequently invited to 10 Downing Street in recognition of her contribution. Chloe has taken a job as a herd manager on a dairy, beef and arable farm.”
The award was presented to Chloe by last year’s winner, Ross Edwards
