Laura Critchley, 22, from Coalville, Leicestershire, recently graduated from Harper Adams University with a first-class honour degree in Veterinary Nursing and Practice Management, and also won the A1 Locums Award, presented annually to the best student on her course.
Selecting Laura for the award, her tutors said: “Laura was considered to be a quiet, conscientious, hardworking, self – starter who consistently achieved over 70% right the way through her studies and richly deserved both her first class degree and this award. From a farming background, Laura undertook her practical training at a mixed practice in Leicestershire.
“She was offered a permanent job on completion of her studies and is currently head of nursing on the large animal side of ML Leggett Veterinary Surgery. She is passionate about sharing her clinical knowledge and hopes to become a clinical coach soon so that she can help support the next generation of student nurses – including, we hope, some from Harper Adams.”
Laura received the award from Clare Alderton, A1 Locums Company Director.
