Graduation 2015 prize-giving: Krusse Veterinary Nurse Of The Year

Louise Way, 23, from Beaworthy, Devon, was named Krusse Veterinary Nurse Of The Year when she graduated from Harper Adams University at the end of September. The Krusse award is presented annually to the student who has produced the best veterinary nursing honours research project. Lecturer Lucy Evans said: “Louise will be graduating today with a First Class BSc (Hons) in Veterinary Nursing and Practice Management.

“Her dissertation was an investigation into the development of modified APGAR scores to quantify recovery in veterinary anaesthetics. As soon as Louise finished her course at Harper Adams, she started working as Head Nurse at Abbey Veterinary Centre, Shrewsbury, where she also completed her placement year. 

“Louise has always been a hard-working and dedicated student on the Veterinary Nursing degree. Louise was involved in many sporting clubs during her time at Harper, including netball. She has a keen interest in travel including visiting and wishing to work in Japan. It has been a pleasure to teach Louise, and as a department we wish her the very best of luck in her career as a Registered Veterinary Nurse.”
