Sarah receives the CIM Prize from Tricia Parrott

Sarah Lane, 22, from Sudbury, Suffolk, won two prizes when she graduated with a first-class honours degree from Harper Adams University at the end of September.

Sarah, BSc (Hons) Agri-Food Marketing with Business Studies, received the Chartered Institute of Marketing Food and Drink Group Prize (l presented by lecturer Tricia Parrott), for the best dissertation on a topic related to the agri-food and drink sector.

The topic of Sarah's dissertation was: “The adoption and use of e-commerce by SMEs in the food and drink industry in East Anglia” and encompassed an in-depth literature review and primary research with agri-food businesses.

She also received the Noble Foods Award (presented by ‎Nikki Bassett, Group HR Director at Noble Foods Ltd), as the Agri-food Marketing with Business Studies student who achieved the best final year average mark. Senior Lecturer Pam Whitehouse said: “This is deserved as she consistently achieved first-class grades from the first year through to her final year.

Sarah carried out her one-year work placement with Stones Throw Food Company, based on the Elveden Estate and she has now secured a position in the Supply Chain Team for Dalehead Foods. We wish her well for the future.”
