Graduation 2016 - Two prizes for REALM graduate Andy Rowland

Andy Rowland, 29, from Brown Edge, Stoke-on-Trent, has been awarded the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) Award and the Tilhill Forestry Award.

The CAAV Award is given to the top undergraduate REALM student who has obtained the highest mark in Revenue, Law and Statutory Valuation module.

Mark Simcock, associate head of department, said: “Andy completed his placement year on the Stair Estate near Stranraer and has a graduate position with the Englefield Estate in Berkshire.” 

The Tilhill Forestry Award is presented to best overall top final year student who studied the module sustainable forestry and forest products.

Jim Waterson, senior lectuer, said: “Andy’s work has been excellent throughout the module, achieving the highest combined marks for the module. 

“His work shows excellent grasp, understanding and analysis of technical and strategic forest and land management issues.”

The Tilhill Forestry Prize was presented by Iwan Williams, whilst the CAAV award was presented by Dr Jeremy Moody.

Mark has graduated with a first-class honours BSc Rural Enterprise and Land Management degree.
