“It enables the university to introduce students to hands-on experience of valuation, creating financial models, performing feasibility studies, and applying software that is widely used in the industry”
Harper Adams University has secured a partnership with Altus Group, a leading provider of industry-standard software solutions for the real estate industry.
As part of its continued effort to support real estate students around the world, The ARGUS University Partnership Program provides students with access to ARGUS Enterprise and ARGUS Developer, a suite of software solutions to analyse real estate to improve decision-making.
Itua Omokhomion, Lecturer in Real Estate at Harper Adams and lead for the partnership, explained: “ARGUS Enterprise is used in preparing real estate cash flow and valuation; budgeting and forecasting processes; sensitivity and scenario analysis; portfolio reporting and data analysis.?
“While ARGUS Developer is used to prepare property development feasibility, test assumptions across projects, create business cases, project monitoring and stakeholder management.?
"Securing the partnership has given students access to an important and useful software, says Itua. “It enables the university to introduce students to hands-on experience of valuation, creating financial models, performing feasibility studies, and applying software that is widely used in the industry”.
“This partnership strengthens our commitment to our learning and teaching methods and guarantees that our students improve their knowledge of industry practices in their field of study. By applying various case studies with ARGUS Enterprise and ARGUS Developer our students can solve situations they will encounter at work.
“The ARGUS software certification, with a discount for students if they decide to take the exams, enables them to add extra credibility, show commitment to the industry and demonstrate competency when applying for work."
Itua offers advice for those students interested in the degree: “For future students looking to study at Harper, my advice to them about the Real Estate course is to come ready to learn, work hard and have fun.
“They will be meeting a fantastic team here ready to support and guide them. The ARGUS University Partnership Program is an example of how the team at Harper are constantly thinking of ways to prepare them for the future.”
