WHEN THE 2002 Annual Review of Harper Adams University College, Shropshire, is released next month, it will include the details of almost 40 special prizes and the students who won them.Amongst this impressive list, will be the achievements of Wayne Huxham, 25, a student of Harper Adams from Bindura, Zimbabwe, who won the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers Prize for the best BSc (Hons) Marketing dissertation.
Wayne graduated from Harper Adams with a BSc (Hons) Agri-food Marketing and Business Studies degree last September, when he was presented with the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers prize for his dissertation entitled ‘How is Category Management changing the UK Soft Fruit Industry?’
Wayne chose his subject based upon a placement as Assistant Trading Manager for KG Fruits, Kent, which is the UK’s largest soft fruit marketing company. He worked on the Safeway and Waitrose accounts so successfully, that he was asked to return during a subsequent summer vacation and handle the Sainsbury’s account.
Wayne now works for a Business Exchange company in Fleet Street.
