Harper Adams opened its doors to over 1,200 prospective students and parents at the highest ever attended Open Day at the University College last Sunday.
Students and parents alike were keen to see the developments at the UK's premier provider of higher education for business, food, rural and land-based studies which has recently been named as the Sunday Times University College of the Year.
Students and their families met with lecturers and support staff from across the campus to find out more about the courses on offer and facilities available. Current student ambassadors gave campus tours which include teaching area, the learning support area, the award-winning bamford library, accommodation, leisure facilities and assisted with tractor and trailer tours of the College Farm.
Harper Adams has expanded its range of degree and Foundation Degree (or HND) courses in recent years. In addition to the ever popular agriculture courses there is a great choice of degree courses in the broad areas of: Engineering, Business Marketing and Management, Food related subjects, Land/Estate Management; Leisure/Tourism/ Adventure Recreation; Countryside Management; Animal related courses such as veterinary nursing.
The Principal, Professor Wynne Jones said “It has been a wonderful day with the highest attendance at an Open Day we’ve seen. It is extremely encouraging to see so many enthusiastic students who have harnessed the opportunity and come along and have chatted to current students and staff who gave first hand information and advice.”
