The Library

Printing, Scanning and Photocopying

The library has three combined printers and photocopiers (MFD's) - one on the ground floor and two on the first floor.

All the  printers can print in colour and black and white. They are operated by placing your ID card on the reader on the side of the printer or you can key in your login details.

The charges are 3p per black and white A4 copy and 6p per colour A4 copy.  A3 copie cost 10p for black and white and 20p for colour. Full details are available by each machine. You can put money on your student ID card online.

You may also use the  printers to scan and email items at no cost.

Note: the law limits how much you are allowed to copy from a book or journal, see Copyright.

Scanned copies of print book chapters and journal articles

If you do not study regularly on campus we provide a scanning service. If a journal article is not available electronically, but we have the print journal (check  HOLLY to find out) we will scan and email the article to you, We can also scan one chapter or 10%, whichever is greater, of a book.  For copyright reasons you are only allowed one article from each issue of a journal.
