Today marks the start of the thirteenth annual National Apprenticeship Week, running from February 3 to 9. The week aims to celebrate apprenticeships from across England; highlighting the different opportunities as well as the successes of individuals who have completed their courses and gone on to have excellent careers.
We offer the opportunity to complete a degree apprenticeship, working for an employer while earning your degree part time. By gaining relevant career skills as well as a qualification, individuals can take the next step in their career with real world experience to accompany them. Apprentices come to campus for block weeks and also work on projects and activities at the workplace.
Clare Keegan, Business Development & Apprenticeships Manager, spoke about our apprenticeships saying: "Large and small employers are keen to recruit Degree Apprentices in our specialist subjects. With two years of delivery experience at Harper Adams University we are growing our team to support more apprentices than ever this coming September. New courses will also help to increase the number of vacancies in the sector.
"We work with some of the largest Food businesses in the country, offering a range of Degree Apprenticeships in Science, Technical, Engineering and Leadership. It’s truly rewarding watching our apprentices grow year on year in these businesses and take on greater responsibility as they grow."
The theme of this year's event is 'Look Beyond', focusing on celebrating the diversity and value apprenticeships bring to their employers. By looking beyond, National Apprenticeship Week hopes to promote an alternative to the traditional route of employment. Our degree apprenticeships provide a great way to achieve a degree while working.
