Engineering students in their second year at Harper Adams University are once again being offered the opportunity to apply for the CLAAS Scholarship, valued at up to £9,000, coupled with a one year paid work placement at the CLAAS HQ in Harsewinkel, Germany.
Harper Adams University's Head of Development Doris Taylor, said:
“We are delighted that CLAAS is continuing to offer this fantastic scholarship to our students at Harper Adams University which, in addition to the financial support, offers the experience to live and work in Germany, together with incredible career and networking opportunities. CLAAS is a longstanding supporter of our scholarship programme and we are very grateful for their support of our students.”
The scholarship launches with a video presentation from CLAAS UK HR Manager Sarah Steggall, who tells students that prior to the placement year in Germany there is the opportunity to work either at the UK Head Office in Suffolk or with a UK dealer for a few months before travelling to Germany, where all accommodation is provided.
CLAAS scholarship recipient Will Flittner, back at Harper Adams after his placement in Germany and studying for the final year of his MEng Agricultural Engineering course, joins Sarah in the video to talk about his experience living and working in Germany. He described the highlight for him as "Working and living with people from all different cultures from all over the world". Summing up his experience as a CLAAS Scholar, Will said it was "absolutely fantastic, loved every minute of it and I've met some great friends and contacts for life".
This year's successful recipient will work join the Advanced Development Functional Testing Department and will support a team of test engineers, in addition to managing their own smaller projects.
