New scholarship launches for Land and Property Management students at Harper Adams University
“The David James Scholarship has been created so that we can give back to the next generation of Chartered Surveyors. Those who will help to sculpt the shape of Land and Property management and development.”
A new scholarship exclusively for second year and final year BSc students on a full-time Land and Property Management course at Harper Adams University has launched today.
The scholarship is offered by David James; a well-established multi-disciplined company offering services in Chartered Surveying, Agency and Development.
Director of David James and Harper alumnus Matthew Blaken said:
“The David James Scholarship has been created so that we can give back to the next generation of Chartered Surveyors. Those who will help to sculpt the shape of Land and Property management and development. This is an industry that is ever changing and faces many challenges. It’s important as a company to invest in its future.
“The launch of the scholarship coincides with the launch of our new look, following an exciting period of sustained growth. With 50% of our current surveyors being Harper Adams alumni we have exceptionally strong connections with the University and through our own training programme, recognise the value of these scholars in the workplace.
“Having grown the business to a team of 55, we are turning to Harper for our future Surveyors and Team Leaders in order to continue this growth. We therefore want to support and encourage all graduates at this early stage of their professional careers.”
To apply for this opportunity to become the inaugural David James Scholarship recipient, students are challenged with answering the following question in their covering letter.
“How will technology be used to modernise the work of the Rural Surveyor in 2025?”
All applications will be reviewed by David James, and the successful recipient will receive a scholarship award of £1,500. For more information and details of how to apply click here
Doris Taylor, Head of Development at Harper Adams University, said:
“We are delighted to welcome David James as a new scholarship provider and we value our strong connection. It is wonderful to see Matthew Blaken and his fellow Harper Adams alumni at David James investing in the next generation as they start out in their careers and also highlighting the opportunities available to them within their organisation.”
