Students from Harper Adams University College have given thanks to the local farming community for their generosity and sponsorship during a recent ploughing match.
The annual Inter-University Ploughing Match was held at the University College recently with more than 200 people turning up for the event, including students from Reading and Newcastle Universities.
Staffordshire farmer, Stuart Spence provided the field for the match, whilst Rea Valley and Ravenhill of Newport, and Pughs of Market Drayton supplied tractors. Kuhn Farm Machinery, Telford lent the students three ploughs.
22-year-old Agriculture and Land and Farm Management student, Michael Temple, said: “If it had not been for all their kind sponsorship the event wouldn't have happened.
“As well as thanking them, I’d also like to thank everyone who came to support.”
The match was won by Reading University, who as with tradition, will host the event next year.
