Harper Adams Vice Chancellor Dr David Llewellyn and senior colleagues have hosted a visit by representatives of China’s Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University

Vice President Yang Jingkun, Professor Chen Yulin, Office of Teaching Affairs, and Mr Qiao Wenjun, Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, visited the UK early in the New Year.

The Northwest Agriculture and Forestry University is one of the leading agricultural institutions in China, and was visited by Dr Llewellyn in April last year, when various collaboration opportunities, including a UK summer school for Chinese students, were first discussed with University President, Professor Sun.

Dr Llewellyn said: “The primary purpose of the group’s visit to Harper Adams was to finalise details of the Summer School for a cohort of NWA&F students planned for July 2014.  As one of China’s leading Universities in research in the agri-food sector, the delegation was also keen to explore areas of collaboration with Harper Adams University.

“We look forward to hosting the new summer school later this year and to having an opportunity to incorporate recent research findings at Harper Adams University into this programme.”
