Harper Adams University’s position as one of the best in the UK for student satisfaction has been recognised in the 2015 Good University Guide, published this week by The Times and Sunday Times.
Harper Adams was rated the 13th best UK university for student satisfaction and the 12th best modern university in the Times Good University Guide, published on Sunday.
Reviewing Harper Adams, the guide editors wrote: “Only about half of its students are on campus at any one time; the rest are on placement years or accredited part-time programmes in industry, an approach that yields strong graduate employment prospects.
“Those prospects allied with consistently outstanding scores for student satisfaction push Harper Adams comfortably into the middle reaches of our league table. Harper Adams has been close to the top in the National Student Survey (NSS) in every year that it has been published, its students praising the personal attention they receive."
The guide asked new students’ union president, Thomas Mountain, for his views on life at Harper Adams. He said the university stood out for him because “Every student gets to do a year in industry which gives you a clear direction after graduating” and his deal clincher was that “we get new facilities all the time sponsored by high profile companies within the agri-food supply chain”
In further national recognition this year, Harper Adams University is a finalist for University of the Year in the Times Higher Education Awards, to be announced in November.
The university has also been shortlisted for Outstanding Contribution to Innovation and Technology for its work in the field of agricultural engineering.
